Wayne was a great teacher. He always had time to show how things worked on his Little Red Oldsmobile when the kid next door climbed the fence to see what he was doing. He will be missed but his memory will live on in our hearts. Don Coleman and family Danville,VA

It is with a great deal of sadness that I send my heartfelt sympathy to Mary and family in the passing of Wayne. I, as a friend and sister in Christ, want to leave one of many Scripture verses that I pray will bring each of you peace and comfort in this time of bereavement. It is found in Jeremiah 17:7-8: "Blessed are those who trust in the Lord. They are like trees planted on a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green and they go right on producing delicious fruit." May the Lord bless and keep you as you continue to look to Him for peace and comfort.

    With love,

I have known Wayne for almost fifty years and worked with him at GE in Lynchburg and ITT in Roanoke. Wayne was an all around good guy and most of all he was my very dear friend. Wayne loved cars and he worked on my car and both of my son's cars. My wife Sara, my sons Alton and Ray and my daughter Vicki and I shared many happy times with Wayne, Mary, Tammy and Carol. Our visits were always jouful and fun. Wayne had a great sense of humor and I alway delighted in his dry wit. I had looked forward to moving back to Virginia when I retired so that Sara and I could spend more time with Wayne and Mary. Waynes illness limited the things that I had hoped to do with him but, never the less, he was still a joy to be around. His passing has left a hole in my heart.

Mr. Ferguson was always such a dear friend of my parents, as is his wonderful wife, Mary, and their sweet daughters, Tammy and Carole. I remember their family well from my youth, growing up in Lynchburg, VA. With every visit to their home, we were welcomed with warm smiles and open arms. I will always cherish the memories of watching my parents and the Fergusons laughing and playing cards. It has been years since I have seen them, and yet, when I look at the picture posted here of Wayne, I feel like that little child again, tagging along with my parents to see their friends....not a 42 year old who just realized how terribly quickly time passes.

    God bless you all.

With loving thoughts and warm memories,
