Jimmy Lee Blevins, 71, of Vernon Hill and formerly of Moneta, passed away Friday Jan. 27, 2012. For the past 26 years, Jim was the Postmaster at Hardy Contract Station at Westlake, The love of God, and his family, friends and customers all made his world complete.
Jim is survived by two sons, Jimmy Lee (Bobby) and Clint; three brothers, Bobby Ray (Aleta), Dan and Keith; four sisters, Sally (Tom), Cathy (Miles), Brenda (Tim), Becky (Jay); and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his best friend and fishing buddy, Ed and wife, Madeline; and friends, Tommy and Shirley, and Sandra Greer.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Joel and Mary and a sister, Viola.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Kochenderfer and Angie, and the nurses at Blue Ridge Cancer Center. Franklin County Hospice, Jan, Dena, and Kitty, Genia at Piedmont Hospice in Collinsville, Va., their acts of compassion meant so much to our family during Jim’s illness. A special thanks to Sandra Via for her generosity. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, visits, cards, calls, and many lunches, all these really helped to make Jim’s days brighter.
