Glenn Edward Saunders, 78, of Lynchburg, VA, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at his residence.
Born Wednesday, November 22, 1933 in Lynchburg, VA, Glenn was a son of the late Meryle Gilbert Saunders, and the late Cabell Saunders.
Glenn is survived by his children: Judy Argenbright and her husband, Jesse, of Madison Heights, Tina Gray and her husband, Eric, of Lynchburg, Christopher Goff and his wife, Dawn, of Big Island, Christy Zini, of Big Island; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a very special friend, Kitty East, of Altavista.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Edward Saunders, Jr., a brother Bill, and a sister, Mildred.
Ever since he was a young boy, Glenn loved fishing on the James River. He was a social person and enjoyed dancing. The family affectionately called him the “Dancing King”. He especially enjoyed his job at Walmart, where he never met a stranger and could talk with everyone.
A celebration of Glenn's life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg with Rev. Gary Moore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
