To Susan, Larry and Tom,
Quiet and sincere sympathy is often the most welcome and efficient consolation to the grieving. Said a wise man to one deep in sorrow, "I did not come to comfort you; God only can do that; but I did come to say how deeply and tenderly I feel for you in your time of sorrow.

I'm very sorry for The Brown Family loss of Jerry. I did not know Jerry very well personally, but my Dad, Jim McKeon has worked by his side with Brown's Construction for 20 years and for that I'm forever greatful.
Jerry was always there for our family. One story particular...my brother broke his leg playing football in high school. When I came home he was lying in a hospital bed...in our living room! I asked my Dad, "Where did you get this hospital bed!?" He smiled and said, "Jerry." He never hesitated to hel out, with anything. Thank you Jerry Brown. Thank you Brown's Construction. -

The world has lost a great man and the Heavens have gained an Angel. Jerry hired me to work at Brown's Construction 15 years ago. He was always laughing and joking. Its hard for me to realize that he will never walk in the door again. But I know that he is watching down on us, and I know Larry Brown, his brother, will carry on his legacy as he would have. My deepest sympathy goes out to his daughter Susan and husband Andrew and their children, Larry and Jennifer and his family, the rest of Jerry's family and the Brown's Construction family. We will all miss him.

My family and I have known Jerry since we moved to the Huddleston area in 1954. We lovingly referred to their family as the "brownies". Jerry, myself and my husband, Glenn, went to Staunton River together. Jerry, the other youth in the area and my brothers spent a lot of time together playing Rook in my father's country store. Wanda was one of my best friends. We are sorry for your loss and he will be missed by all who knew him. On behalf of my mother, Dorothy Dellis, my brothers, Gary and Donald (Duck) Dellis and Glenn and myself, we extend our sympathy to all the family. May God give you strength during this difficult time.

Jim and I would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest condolences to the entire Brown family at this difficult time.
As we came to know Jerry for the past 20 years, we found him to be a kind and charming individual, with a twinkle in his eyes, and a smile on his face to anyone he met. He held a deep passion for his business and his community, and it showed with the countless hours and dedication he devoted to both.
It was not unusual for Jerry to bring in the kids to lend a hand at a "first job", our son Adam included. Some of those once young men, are now grown, and still work for the company today. Others went on to start endeavors of their own, thanks to the experience they received working for Jerry.
He brought Jim on board as a partner, and intrusted him to serve as his Vice President of Brown's Construction, and to head up the Building Division of the Company. Something which we will both be eternally grateful for.
Thank you Jerry, for everything you did for us, your beloved family and loved ones, and for the guidance, knowledge and experience your shared with your Browns Construction "Family".
Your legacy as the founder and leader of Brown's Construction of Virginia will live on, through every life you touched...
Sincerely,
Jane and Jim McKeon

While reading in the news paper, I came across the name of Jerry your dear loved one.
I understand the pain that this time can cause, so I wanted to take this time to express my condolence to you for your loss. I know that a time like this is never easy to deal with. If fact it causes only grief. That's why the scriptures at (1 Corth. 15:26)--Calls death an " Enemy" to mankind because it takes our loved ones away from us. However I wanted to share a thought with you that comforted me when I lost a family member in death. The man Job in ( Job 14:14) asks" If an able-bodied man dies can he live again?". Happily Jesus answers in ( John 5:28,29)-" Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life" Imagine a resurrection or a bringing back to life. And right here on earth.--( Ps.37:29)-“The righteous themselves will posses the earth. And they will reside forever upon it”. Jesus in ( John 5:28) was relaying a promise from his heavenly Father-(Jehovah-(Ps.83:18) who at (Titus 1:2) says is a " God who can not lie" Well I hope that you will be able to draw some comfort from these scriptural thoughts as I did. Now I will end by saying, may you find peace in the bible's promises and in the treasured memories of your dear loved one. -
