Mr C. was one of those kind of people who just stick in your mind and never really leaves you. Over the years I have spoke of Mr.C. many times to my friends and family about how he works so hard with the youth at First Chritian Church back in the 70's. I remember going on hiking trips, hay rides, and having some of the best "Summer Youth Bible School" i can ever remember. My best memory was our trip to the old Dr. Pepper Bottling plant in down ton Lynchburg. (Those who were they will remember what I'm talking about).
He will be missed but never forgotten. He will stand out in my heart as an understanding, caring person and most of all a friend. I can see him now singing "O Holy Night" right now.
Rest with the Lord Mr. C. and one we will meet again.

Sarah Cheverton, I did not know your father well, but I counted you as a close friend in high school. Have missed staying connected....
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time! Sounds like your dad lived large until he died! What a way to go....
I'd seen him not too.many years ago at First Christian Lynchburg, when visiting my parents. He was guest preacher that day, I believe. He leaves quite a legacy of ministry. Love to you and the family!

It doesn't seem like so many years ago that we saw David and Linda every Sunday (and many other days during the week) at First Christian Church in Bluefield, WV. We enjoyed your friendship, guidance and inspiration. Linda and I shared many experiences in the Woman's Fellowship Circle. We were truly saddened to learn the news of David's passing.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my most sincere condolences to the family of David Cheverton. I first met him when he came to Memorial Christian Church to serve as a preacher during a time when we needed interim ministers. I remember fondly our conversations and his helpfulness to our church at this time of need. My heart aches for your loss and you and your family will be in the thoughts and prayers of not only myself but our entire congregation as well. God Bless You.

Rev. Cheverton has always been a special friend to the English family in Franklin County. He came to Doe Run in the late fifties and made a positive impression on many of us youth with his activities, games, and devotions. We followed him to Craig Springs for more fun and fellowship. Our hearts are sadden to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
