William Steven Ondo

William Steven Ondo, 84, of Huddleston died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence. Born in Passaic, New Jersey on May 23, 1926, a son of the late Steven Ondo and Julia Tierling Ondo. William served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and faught for our freedom in the Battle of Iwo Jima. After being injured while defending his country William received the Purple Heart for his service, faith, honor and honesty. After the military he started his career in Aviation with Cesna Air Craft as an Mechanical Engineer. William loved gardening, spending time in his greenhouse, crafts, woodwork and spending time with his family and friends.

William is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose Theresa Schimph Ondo; two children, William Stephen Ondo and his wife, Christinia and Kathleen Margaret Sipos and her husband, James; four grandchildren, James William Sipos, Stephen Ondo, Jennifer Ondo and Victoria Ondo.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford. The United States Marine Corp will provide the Military Honors. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, (540)-586-3443.
