William B. Crismond

William “Bill” Buchanan Crismond, 90 of Bedford passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018. He was born on September 28, 1927 in Monaville, WV. A son of the late Wiley Defau Crismond and Jennie Mae Buchanan Crismond. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta Noonkester Crismond and a son Rev. William Gary Crismond and a sister, Mary Ellen Powers.

Bill was a retired truck driver with Texaco Inc. He was a member of Suck Spring Southern Baptist Church. He also served his country in the United States Navy. Bill received the father of the year in 1982 for being a dependable and dedicated father who helped his son Gary get through a disabling medical condition.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Dianne Crismond Johnston and husband, Lawrence, Jr.; Grandchildren, Kory Formon and wife, Jenny and Wystan Davis Crismond and wife, Jodi; five grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tammy Walls; also numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service and celebration of Bill’s life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Suck Spring Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford.
