Wayne Thomas Inge

Wayne Thomas Inge, 80, of Bedford went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1945, to the late Roy Ellis Inge and Nancy Viola Wood Inge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Catina Inge and sister, Clara Overstreet.

Wayne courageously served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he dedicated 47 years to BWX Technologies, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment. Above all else, Wayne lived for his family, and there was nothing he wouldn't do to bring them happiness. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janie Marie Inge, sons, Damian Inge (Nikki) and Dane Inge (Jennifer); grandchildren, Gage Inge, Timber Inge, Kennedy Inge, Samantha Tapia and Mikala Tapia; great-grandson, Ryder, Mikie and Remi; brother, Rucker Inge (Betty); sister, Shelia Tapia (Mike); sisters-in-law, Joyce Ann Roaten (Charles) and Gaynell Waldron; brothers-in-law, Jessie Overstreet, David Hawkins (Ann) and Donald Hawkins; special nieces, Carla Scott (Greg) and Crystal Overstreet and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at Timber Ridge Baptist Church on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church’s cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
