Wayne Eugene Rice

Wayne Eugene Rice, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Berkshire Health and Rehab.

He was born on August 16, 1947, in Avalon, Virginia, to the late Harry Rice and Geneva Davenport Rice.

Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Rice and McClinton Rice. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Rice, and his sister, Elizabeth Bowling.

Wayne was a successful businessman who spent his life in sales. He enjoyed traveling and had a lifelong appreciation for cars. He was happiest when he was on the water, where he could enjoy his love of boating. Wayne had a way of getting along with everyone he met and was always friendly, kind, and willing to lend a helping hand to others.

In his later years he spent time surrounded by friends and loved ones. He especially cherished the time he shared with his partner, Lotus Ferris, and her family, who were an important part of his life.

At Wayne’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
