Walter Carwile, Jr.
June 23, 1943 — August 9, 2025
Walter Dewitt Carwile, 82, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on August 9, 2025. He was the son of the late Walter Dewitt Sr, and Louise Cunningham Carwile.
Walter was born on June 23, 1943, in Lynchburg, Va. He retired from GNB, and served in the Army National Guard, in the Airborne Unit.
Walter is survived by his wife Emily Weigan Carwile of almost 60 years, his daughter Sherry Wheeler (Donald): his grandchildren: Kaylee and Kaleb Wheeler; his siblings: Wayne Carwile (Helen), Peggy Bryan (Lewis); and many loving friends in the community.
The family would also like to thank Centra Hospice for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion.
A graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Spring Hill Cemetery at 2 PM.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
