Virginia Louise Adams

Virginia Louise Simmons Adams, 89, of Lynchburg, died Monday, August 6, 2012. She was the wife of the late Leonard Allen Adams.



Mrs. Adams was born in Buckingham County, a daughter of the late Thomas A. Simmons and Mattie Ayres Simmons.   She was a member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church where she was also of member of the United Methodist Women and a volunteer for the Central Virginia Commission on Aging.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Allen Adams and his wife, Linda of Lynchburg and a daughter, Margie A. Smith and her husband, Marty of Toano, a sister, Frances S. Faught of Richmond, three grandchildren, Renee Adams Trent and husband Randy, Benjamin Adams and Kimberly Sandidge, eight great – grandchildren and one great – great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia A. Brown, sister Gloria Safritt and brothers, Charles, Bobby and Bill Simmons.

 The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel 220 Breezewood Drive Lynchburg, VA Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church with      Pastor Elizabeth Ecklund. officiating.

 Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
