Listen to Obituary

Tyheem Lemonte Royster departed this life on January 28, 2026, at Lynchburg, General Hospital. Tyheem was born on March 17, 1998, to the union of Frederick Royster, Sr. of Bronx, New York and Lonnetta Scott of Lynchburg, Virginia.

He accepted Christ at an early age. Over the years, people fondly called him “Ty” or “Heem.” Tyheem made the scholar’s list at Jefferson Forest High School both in his junior and senior years. In 2017, he graduated from E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Tyheem loved visiting New York, Florida, and Atlanta, often spending quality time with his family. He found joy in playing basketball, enjoying moments with his children, wearing designer clothes, listening to music, and dreaming of recording music with his friend Christian Doyle. Tyheem was well known at Williams Barbershop for being a helpful presence among the barbers, and he was also popular as a food prep cook at The Philly Cheesesteak Restaurant on Memorial Avenue. His love of food grew from childhood experiences with his grandmother Liz, who often cooked favorites such as Mac & Cheese and fried chicken. He also enjoyed Lisa’s jambalaya and dishes prepared by others whenever he requested them.

When Tyheem was three months old, he traveled by train to New York City to meet his paternal relatives for the first time. The trips became an annual tradition each summer following the conclusion of the school year. These experiences contributed significantly to his upbringing. Tyheem consistently demonstrated courteous behavior and respect toward others, which was evident in various social settings. His Aunt Michelle recalls him saying, “Let me help this elderly woman to her house,” when he was approximately five years old.

When Tyheem was three months old, he took his first train ride to New York City to meet his father’s side of the family for the first time. These memories were a joy for Tyheem to embrace diverse cultural backgrounds. His father, whom he idolized, influenced his upbringing and life.

Tyheem was predeceased by his grandfathers, including Frederick Leroy Royster Sr., and Jacob Lonnie Ghoston. Tyheem's legacy lives on through his four children: Kyrie Lemonte Royster (9), Kylonte Jiyheem Royster (7), Moriyah Dior Royster (6), and his youngest son, Namari Saunders (1). His surviving family includes his grandmothers, Patricia Scott from Lynchburg and Elizabeth Greene from Atlanta, Georgia; his siblings—Cheynia Gutty, Keno Petty, Tamisia Davis, and Carmelo Seal—and a large extended network of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, along with colleagues.
