With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tony Lee Burns, who departed this life on September 23, 2025, at the age of 60, in his beloved hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia. Born on January 2, 1965, Tony was the cherished son of Tony Morton Burns and the late Barbara Ann Burns. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends.
Tony’s journey began in Lynchburg, where he grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of his hometown and the warmth of a close-knit family. He was not only a devoted son but also a beloved brother to Jeff, Karen, Timmy, and Brian. The bond shared among the siblings was a source of strength and joy, providing a foundation of support throughout Tony's life.
In his professional career, Tony dedicated over 20 years to Simplimatic as a Metal Fabrication Specialist. His meticulous work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Tony took pride in his craft, often sharing stories of his experiences with family, who listened with admiration.
Tony was a man of many passions. He had a love for computers and was often found tinkering with technology. His enthusiasm extended to watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, where he cheered passionately from the sidelines—his spirited commentary unmatched. An adventurous soul, Tony also enjoyed riding motorcycles, relishing the freedom of the open road and the thrill of each ride.
Above all, Tony’s greatest joy stemmed from his beloved family. He is survived by his children, Kristina Burns, Hank Burns (and wife Celena), and Terri Goff. Tony was a grandfather, leaving behind a legacy through his grandchildren, Brianna, Christian, Caidan, Isaiah, Jaidan, Daelyn, Avery, Elisia, Aria, Makayla, Myia, and Aiden. Each of his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
Tony's life touched many, and he formed a special bond with his dear friend, Scott Jachode. Their friendship was a testament to loyalty and support, and Tony was grateful for Scott's continuous presence in his life.
Tony's health began to decline due to complications, which ultimately led to his passing. While his absence leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, his spirit will continue to live on in the cherished memories created with family and friends.
