Timothy Scott Bagby, 59, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, while doing one of the things he loved most, fishing. He was born on December 28, 1965, to the late G.C. and Grace Bagby.
In addition to his parents, Scott was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, H.F. “Bunky” Wilmouth, Jr.
Scott graduated from Rustburg High School. He was a member of Eastbrook Baptist church and employed at AMG as a machinist for over twenty years. When not working, Scott enjoyed all things outside; fishing, hunting, and riding four wheelers with his grandkids. He spent many hours piddling with outside chores, especially cutting the lawn.
He also loved playing chess and looked forward to family vacations to his favorite places, Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg. Scott wouldn’t pass up a chance to cheer on his favorite college team UVA or to spoil his grandkids by giving them multiple cups of chocolate milk before sending them back to their parents.
Scott’s sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, including his loving wife, Lisa Wilmouth Bagby; son, Timothy C. Bagby (Marie); daughter, Brittany M. Bagby; three grandchildren, Jayce Evans, Adalene Evans, and R.C. Bagby; two brothers, Tony Bagby (Tammy) and Dell Bagby; one sister, Tammy Bagby Webster (Glenn); mother of his children, Michelle Bagby; mother-in-law, Ruby C. Wilmouth; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Wilmouth (Ronda) and Gary Wilmouth (Julie); longtime family friend, Brenda Johnson; special friends, Mark Bagby, James Welch and Eddie Rickman; fur babies, Ty, Olivia Grace, and Cricket Ann; as well as countless other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to flowers, contributions may be made to Eastbrook Baptist Church in memory of Scott.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 6:00pm at Eastbrook Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
