Spensir Wood

Spensir Logan Wood, 27-years-old, of Rustburg, Virginia, passed away on October 21st, 2025. He was the son of Shellie Wood Smith and the late Justin Smith.

Spensir was born on November 7th, 1997, in North Carolina. He attended school at Community Christian School and graduated in 2016, then went to Liberty University for a couple of years. Spensir started working in line surveying and was pursuing a career in engineering. Spensir attended New Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed playing chess, playing racquetball/pickleball/disc golf, reading, cooking new recipes, and riding motorcycles.

Spensir is survived by his wife, Amber Wood; siblings Ayden Smith and Sutton Smith; mother Shellie Smith; grandparents Phillip and Pat Wood; Uncle Steven Wood (Diana); Uncle Brian Wood; cousins McCall and McKinzlie Wood; Sister-in-Law Morgan Brantley (Garrett) and Rylie Lee; Brother-in-Law Blaise Hammond; In-Laws Betsy Garner and Keith Garner (Kelly).

Spensir is preceded in death by his father, Justin Smith and great-grandparents Ralph and Mary Wood, and Cleo Barber.

A memorial service will be held on October 29th, 2025, at 4:00P.M. at New Chapel Baptist Church with Tim Dooley and Zack Broy officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon prior to the service from 2:30 - 3:30P.M..

A second memorial service will be held on November 1st, 2025, at 4:00P.M. at Peace Church with Leslie Liles, Rusty Russell, and Carl Bradshaw officiating. The family will receive friends on that Saturday afternoon prior to the service from 1:30 - 3:30P.M.
