Shirley Williams Hill, 89, of Forest, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019. She was the wife of John William “Bunker” Hill for 69 years.
She was born on June 3, 1929 in Lynchburg, Va. to the late Luther Davis Williams and the late Jean Inez Crank Williams.
Along with her husband, Shirley is survived by three daughters, Lisa Hill Sachs (Bob) of Locust Grove, VA, Ann Hill Daniel (Tim) of Wichita, KS, and Robin Hill Hicks (Mike) of Forest; six grandchildren: Tracey Gerow, Kelli Dudley, Virginia Nguyen, Geoff Daniel, Lindsey Hooper, and Taylor Hicks; and 12 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Brookville High School Athletic Department, 100 Laxton Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24502.
