Shirley Cunningham

Shirley Cunningham, 91, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.  She was the daughter of the late William Leroy Cunningham and Sarah Beatty Cunningham.

Shirley was born on January 15, 1933, in Turtle Creek, PA.  Shirley attended Chatham College in Pittsburgh, PA and was a retired secretary of Cornell University, New York State Department of Agriculture.

Shirley was a member of Forest United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Maier Museum of Art, and a treasured friend.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Jill McNitt-Gray of Culver City, CA; grandchildren, Sarah McNitt-Gray and Shawn McNitt-Gray.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her brother, Henry Cunningham, and two sisters, Nora Bartley and Dorothy Genre.

In her memory, memorial contributions can be made to Centra Hospice of the Hills.
