Listen to Obituary

Sharon Ann Condit-Fessier, 81, of Staunton, VA, was born September 27, 1944 in Mineola, Long Island, NY. She was the daughter of Lorraine Gertrude Caldwell and John Warren Condit. Sharon grew up on Long Island, graduating from North Shore High School in Glen Head, and later, graduating from Berkeley College in New York City. Her career was spent in banking in both New York City and Los Angeles, achieving the title of vice president. After more than thirty years in California, Sharon and her late husband, David Fessier, moved to Virginia, settling in Staunton. In Virginia she joined Financial Management, Inc. in Waynesboro, until her retirement in 2020.

Sharon was possessed of a sweet nature and an open heart. She had a passion for cats, having saved many, adopted “some” and found homes for many others. In her forties, she began line dancing, promoting this activity to everyone who’d listen. Sharon was an avid walker, often touting her daily miles and proudly participating in many walks for charitable causes. And Sharon loved to travel. She made frequent trips to Hawaii and Mexico, a trip to England, another to Paris, a favorite cruise to Alaska, several Caribbean islands and saw the USA in a camper she and her husband owned.

Sharon’s family and friends will miss her greatly, but we’ll continue to enjoy our warm memories of the life she shared with each of us. She is survived by her stepdaughters, Monique Fessier of Riverside, CA and Katrina Camara of Forest, VA; grandson, Jeremy Fessier; granddaughter, Sophia Camara; brother, John Warren Condit jr. of Pinehurst, NC, goddaughter, Whitney Tennant of Morristown, NJ; niece, Courtney Paneri of Cranford, NJ; and special friend, Vanessa Daniels of Los Angeles, CA.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg is assisting the family.
