Sandra C. Williams, 88, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She was the wife of the late William Ingham Williams.

Sandra was born in Lynchburg on March 2, 1938, to Maurice Elwood Clingempeel, Sr. and Frances Louise (Brightwell) Clingempeel. She attended Converse College, studying English and Music. After teaching at Elon Elementary School in Amherst County for several years, she spent the remainder of her career serving as a librarian at Central Virginia Community College.

Sandra is survived by her son, John Ingham Williams of Lynchburg, niece, Kelly Skubisz (Keith) of Rockwood, TN, nephew, Maurice Clingempeel of Rockford, IL, and many cousins: Edna (St. John) Bell (Robert) of Ashland, VA, Mary Lou (St. John) Shook of Keysville, VA, Kirk St. John (Vicki Raeburn) of Charlotte Court House, VA, Patricia St. John of North Chesterfield, VA, Marie Price Doss of Chester, VA (Diedre Hall and Theva Trainor, daughters of Marie), Michael Alan Parker of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Deborah and Emily, daughters of Sandra's beloved Aunt Hazel.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her sister, Maurine Clingempeel, and her brother, Elwood Clingempeel.

Sandra loved music, antiques, researching ancestry and family history, knitting, reading, and watching movies. She was beloved by family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

At Sandra’s request, no formal services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Beulah Baptist Church in Lynchburg. VA.
