Ronnie Eugene Womack

Ronnie Eugene Womack was born on November 27, 1952, to Gladys Womack Roberts and, two years later, became the cherished son of Thomas Roberts—both of whom preceded him in death. Ronnie was the oldest of six children and took great pride in his role as big brother. He is survived by his siblings Linda Noble (Thom), Ruth Dillon, Tina Dunivan (Joey), Leon Roberts (Wanda), and Kenny Roberts (Valerie).

Ronnie married Deborah Proffit Womack (deceased), and together they lovingly raised three children: Angela McFadden (Dennis), Ronnie Dale Womack (Crystal), and Jennifer Womack (deceased) . He later married Linda Pribble Womack (deceased) and became a proud stepfather to R.W. Jordan (Audrey) and Family. Ronnie was “Papa Ronnie” to many, and his love for his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family was immeasurable.

A simple man with the biggest heart, Ronnie was known for being a devoted family man who truly never met a stranger. To know him was to be his friend. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and loved, and his favorite saying, spoken often and without hesitation, was:

“You know I love you.”

Ronnie had a passion for collecting Hot Wheels—muscle cars only—and he enjoyed admiring old cars, classic trucks, and trains of every kind. A self-taught musician, he amazed others with his voice and was known for sounding strikingly like Conway Twitty. Kids adored him, adults respected him, and everyone who crossed paths with him walked away with a smile.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, music, and unconditional love. Ronnie was deeply loved, and he will be remembered always.

A funeral service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
