Listen to Obituary

Roger Keith Clark, 76, of Goode, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Roger was born in Lafayette, Indiana, on May 16, 1949, a son of the late Ralph G. Clark and Opal G. Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Paula Hall Clark; his brother, Earl Clark; and his sister, Lora May Ruddick.

Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend who never met a stranger. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Roger loved spending time with his family and friends and found great joy in music and singing.

Farming and being outdoors were always among Roger’s greatest passions. He especially enjoyed cutting hay, working on his farm, and lending a helping hand to others whenever it was needed. Roger spent more than 50 years driving a truck for numerous companies including Schwan’s Food Company, Westover Dairy, and Quickway Carriers. Prior to his retirement, he drove for many years for Gunnoe’s Sausage.

Roger was a proud member of Peaksville Odd Fellows Lodge #406, Peaks of Otter Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2157, Stoney Creek Rebekah Lodge #103, and Woodmen Life Chapter #175. His service to his family, friends, neighbors, and community was always evident, and he was always there in a time of need.

He is survived by his two children, Danielle Clark Craig and her husband Blake, and Nicholas Kent Clark (Leeann Martin). Roger was known as “Paw Paw” to many kids, but the love he had for his four grandchildren was especially dear: Marisa Padgett, Sarah Robertson, Destiny Carter (Vincent Parks), and Sydney Carter; one great-grandchild, Sophia Grace; his siblings, John Clark and his wife Deanne, Ron Clark and his wife Teresa, and Gary Clark; sisters-in-law, Norma Clark and Kim Lasota and her husband Ron; brother-in-law, Barry Hall and his wife Pam; a very special friend, Wanda Toms and her four-legged companion, Rocky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Good Samaritan Hospice in Roanoke, Virginia, for the compassionate care and kindness they showed Roger and his family during his final days.

For those wishing to make memorial contributions in Roger’s memory, donations may be made to Peaksville Odd Fellows Lodge #406, c/o C.W. Higginbotham, Secretary, 207 Majestic Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502, or to a charity of your choice.
