Roberta Wheeler Sady

Roberta Marie Wheeler Sady, 88, of Lynchburg, went to her heavenly home July 11, 2013. Born December 14, 1924, in west Texas, she asked Jesus to forgive her sins and save her at the age of 12. As an adult she shared about that day saying, \"The Lord came into my heart and that weight of sin\"™s conviction was rolled away and a sense of joy and forgiveness filled my life. I thanked God in Jesus\"™ name for what He had just done for me. What a joy to worship and serve a risen, living, indwelling Savior.\"

She was a homemaker, an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, and a resident of Westminster Canterbury. She was a tremendous story teller. She loved to garden, sing, and tell others about Jesus. A favorite Bible verse was, Romans 8:28, \"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.\"

Mrs. Sady was married for 68 years to Louis Sady, who died in 2011, and welcomed her in heaven. Five living children, Robert Sady, Steve Sady, Georjean Sady Radford, Michele Sady Prince, and Maran Sady survive her. A fourth son, Peter Sady, who died in 1987, also welcomed her in heaven. Other family members include 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Dora.   She desired for each of her family members and friends to follow the wisdom of Proverbs 3:5-6, \"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.\"

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in Pate Chapel, TRBC. Interment will follow in Amelia Veterans Cemetery.
