Heaven received a new resident on May 19th, 2026. Robert E. Mitchell has passed away and is now at peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “Bob” had always been known for his caring heart. He used his intelligence, attention to detail, and his jolly attitude to show that care for others. Due to his profession as an electrician, Bob was always an advocate for doing any task the right way and in a safe manner. He is well known in the Ellwood City, PA area where he grew up and then raised his own family. He enjoyed sharing any clean “Dad jokes” and looked for ways to make others laugh. He could talk with just about anyone, about anything, and all would walk away happy for the encounter. He graduated from Riverside High School and earned an Associates Degree from New Castle School of Trades. Bob has always been a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and loved learning anything he could about God’s word. He was very involved with programs through his church such as teaching Sunday school and running Awana. His life verse was “1 Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” which is the overarching legacy of his life - CARING!
Robert is survived by his children April (Richard) Marino, Roger (Sheila) Mitchell, and Elizabeth Bowser; grandchildren Travis, Naomi, Michelle, and Katrianna; siblings Michael (Dottie) Mitchell and Sally (Jim) Blume; father Elmer Mitchell; mother of his children Janet Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom Mary Mitchell.
