Richard G. Ubele

Richard G. Ubele, 75, of Appomattox, Virginia, formerly of Franklinville, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was the son of the late Harry C. Ubele and Jean M. Smith.

Richard was born on August 14, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended school at Mastbaum Vocational High School.

He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia and a very proud endowment member of the NRA and numerous hunting clubs. He loved hunting, fishing, coaching his children in sports when they were growing up, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.   

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara (Betham)Ubele; children, Richard Ubele, Jr. (Laurel), Elizabeth Rose (Antwan), Robert Ubele (Kim); siblings, Jane Whitney-Ubele and Robert Ubele; and 8 grandchildren: Katie, Addison, Ryan, George, William, Nicholas, Mason, and Chelsea.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Harry Ubele and Jean Moore.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s hospital.
