Richard Edward McLaughlin, 78, of Goodview, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Salem VA Medical Center.
Richard proudly served this country as a Marine in the Korean War. He was employed by Delta Airlines for 30 years.
Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemary Liberatore McLaughlin; four daughters, Cathleen McLaughlin, Robin Gallagher and husband, Jack, Karen Seaman and husband Tom, Maureen Rioux; one son, Michael McLaughlin and wife, Gina; nine grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, and Kelly Seaman, Madison and James McLaughlin, Brooke Rioux, Sarah Elliott, Ryan and Patrick Gallagher; and one sister, Lois Picardi and husband, Bob.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem VA Palliative Care Center, 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153.
A Mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 21, 2011 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Father Salvador Añonuevo officiating. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
