Raymond Earl Wood

Raymond Earl Wood, 96, of Bedford passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Oakwood Health and Rehab in Bedford. He was born in Bedford, VA on October 16, 1929 a son of the late Charles Ira Wood and Ruby Virginia Rice Wood. In addition to his Parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Sperberg Wood; daughter Carolyn Wood Hubbard

Raymond was a truck driver for Rubatex Corporation for 34 years. He loved working on his farm with his wife of 66 years Carrie.

Raymond is survived by his son, Thomas Earl Wood; grandchildren, Tyler Wood, Jared Hubbard (Cheryl), Dustin Hubbard (Brandy), Ashton Sapin (Sean); great-grandchildren, Samantha, Amelia, Trevor, Bristol, Daisy, Vayla, Tristan, Liam; and numerous other family and friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Raymond’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Kelly and Rev. William Clark officiating.
