Phyllis Cecelia Early Long Crowe, 81, of Montvale, died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Springtree Health & Rehab Center. She was born June 25, 1931 in Bedford, VA a daughter of the late William Thomas \"Buster\" Early and Della Showalter.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, James Marion Long; second husband, Doc Crowe; three children, Eugene Long, Thomas Long, and Calvin Long; three brothers, James Early, Warren Early and Darden Early; and a grandson, Allen Dickenson. She is survived by five children, Bertie (Jim) Combs , Karen Hartman, Marion (Billy) Dickenson, Darcel (Paul) Callahan; and Neil (Amiee) Long; one brother, William \"PeeWee\" Early; 21 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial contributions may be to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
A celebration of Phyllis\"™ life will be conducted at 7 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2013 in the Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnie G. Glass officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 540-586-3443.
