Phyllis Kathleen Huffman

Phyllis Kathleen Oliver Huffman, 84, of Forest, passed away at home on Monday, August 24, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Ted and Clara Oliver of Beckley, WV. She was the wife of the late Billy Joe Huffman for 63 years.

Phyllis was born on April 1, 1942, in Beckley, WV. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1960. Bill and Phyllis settled in Lynchburg, VA., where she worked for Bedford County Schools in the Cafeteria for 16 years.

She is survived by her three children, David Huffman, John Huffman (Melanie), and Sherry Jo Turner (Vic); six grandchildren, Joshua Huffman (Haley), Jessica Dowdy (Shaun), Tyler Huffman (Nicole), Brandon Huffman (Taylor), Hunter Huffman (Beth), and Cara Jo Little (John); 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marga Oliver; a close family friend, Stacey Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of North Bedford Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her 5 siblings and her sister-in-law, Kay Mitchell (Pat).

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at North Bedford Baptist Church.
