Phillip Donald Scranton, 61 of Forest, died on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Sue Scranton for 38 years.
He was born 1951 in Lakewood, Ohio, the eldest son of the late Donald Arthur Scranton and the late Marian Kimmich Scranton.
Phillip was an Eagle Scout and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, as a member of the shakedown crew aboard the submarine USS Tunney. He was employed as an electrician at Babcock & Wilcox NOGL, Lynchburg, for 36 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers Paul A. Scranton and wife Karen of Rio Rancho, NM and James H. Scranton and wife Shelley of Lynchburg, VA. He will be sadly missed by daughter Tammy Seamster and granddaughters, Ashley Seamster Stillwell and Brandi Seamster, as well as several nieces and nephews.
