Peggy Goff Pugh, 76, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Friday, June 26th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the wife of the late Ralph D. Pugh, Sr., and the daughter of the late Clave Allen Goff and Ida Agnes Goff.

Peggy was born on October 6th, 1949, in Bedford, Virginia. She was a graduate of Liberty High School in Bedford, Virginia. She worked at Paktron in Lynchburg, where she manufactured capacitors until leaving the workforce to devote herself to being a homemaker and mother. On October 9th, 1971, Peggy married the love of her life, Ralph D. Pugh, Sr., in Big Island, Virginia. They were married for nearly 40 years, and together they built a loving home and family.

Peggy was a devoted member of Tabernacle Church. When she was no longer able to attend in person, she faithfully watched Jimmy Swaggart Ministries on television. Peggy enjoyed cooking, tending her flower gardens, sewing, spending time with her family, and especially loved her dogs, Duke, Bandit, and Chubs. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, big heart, steadfast faith, generous and compassionate spirit, and the way she made everyone feel loved.

In addition to her husband and parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Lennie Goff, and her sister, Brenda S. Goff. She is survived by her son, Ralph Dennis Pugh, Jr., and his wife, Hannah, of Lexington, Virginia; her daughter, Shelly Renea Housman and her husband, Scott, of Lynchburg, Virginia; her sisters, Charlotte Childress, Opal Cassidy, and Joyce Adams; her grandchildren, Kirstin Housman and Asher Housman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Reverend Steve Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Centra Hospice and the team of nurses, CNAs, and social workers for their care for Peggy during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggy's memory to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.
