Pearlina Vereen

We are saddened to announce the passing of Perlina Vereen, of Richmond, Virginia. She was born in Henderson, North Carolina, on August 7, 1957, to Fred “Pearly” Vereen and Earline Vereen.

Perlina devoted more than 30 years to the nursing profession before retiring, touching many lives through her compassion and dedication.

She is preceded in death by her father, Fred “Pearly” Vereen; her husband, Willie Jones, Sr.; her sister, Delia Vereen; and her youngest son, Russell Jones.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Earline; her sisters, Valerie (David), Tammy, and Tracy McCray (Darnell); her grandchildren, Tershaud Rose, Renee Haskins, and Zoe Jones; and her great‑grandchildren, Noell Haskins, Nevaeh, Equality, Ernest VI, and Mya Rose. She is also remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home. A repass will follow at the Wesley Apartments Community Center.
