Patricia Tompkins Straw

Patricia Straw, 76 of Spout Spring, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late David Ernest Straw.

Born Thursday, April 16, 1936 in Madison, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Willard Chesly Tompkins and the late Fern Curwen Tompkins. In addition, she was predeceased by her brother, Tommy Grant Tompkins.

She was the owner and operator of Blue Ridge Kennels and a member of Brookhill Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are sons, Michael David Straw and wife, Catherine of Lynchburg, VA and Stephen Brian Straw and wife, Deborah of Spout Springs, VA; grandchildren, Megan Anne Straw, Sarah Catherine Straw, and Matthew Cannon; sisters, Judy Wood and Jill Myers; and step-mother, Barbara Matthews and husband, John.
