Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Norman Hudson, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a man whose kindness, faith, and love for his family touched the lives of so many.

Norman was a true family man who treasured the simple things in life. His Christian faith was an important part of who he was, and he lived his life with a generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He never hesitated to put others before himself, and his kindness and compassion will forever be remembered.

As an over-the-road truck driver, Norman spent countless miles traveling the highways, but no matter how far the road took him, his heart was always with his family and the place he called home.

When he wasn't behind the wheel, Norman enjoyed the things that brought him happiness—casting a fishing line, spending time in his garden growing his beloved maters, squash, and taters, or patiently working on his models. He found joy in life's simple pleasures and took pride in the things he created and grew.

Norman was also known for his signature style. You could almost always find him wearing his colorful suspenders and one of his favorite trucker hats. Those little things made Norman unmistakably Norman, and they will forever bring a smile to the faces of those who knew and loved him.

Above all, Norman will be remembered as a kind, wonderful man with a heart of gold. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, offer a helping hand without being asked, and make you feel welcome wherever he was. His generosity wasn't something he talked about; it was simply how he lived his life.

Norman leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, including his beloved wife, Sherrie Hudson; his daughter and son-in-law, LeAnne and Ryan Garcia; and his cherished granddaughter, Alicia, who brought so much joy to his life.

He is also survived by his loving mother, Barbara Jean Hudson; his brother, Wendall Hudson; his mother-in-law, LaVon Morales, affectionately known as "Ma"; and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.

Norman was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Hudson.

Although his time here on earth has come to an end, the love he gave, the laughter he brought, the memories he made, and the lives he touched will continue to live on. His family and friends will remember the man in the colorful suspenders and trucker hat, the man who loved his garden, his fishing, and the open road, but most importantly, the man who loved his family with all his heart.

Norman's greatest legacy will not be measured in the miles he traveled, the gardens he grew, or the things he built, but in the love he gave his family and the kindness he showed to others.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Until we meet again, may you rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
