Nicholas Lee Willoughby, 66, of Lynchburg, Virginia, formally of Wheaton, Maryland, passed away on January 14, 2026. He was the son of the late Elroy “Woody” Willoughby and Fay (Forsyth) McCloud.

Nicholas was born on July 20,1959, in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Nicholas is survived by his wife Tracy Coles-Willoughby; children, Crystal Willoughby, Jessica Coles and Faith Willoughby; grandchildren, Derrick, Dereon, Olivia, Camille, Jamir, Rylei, Loyalti and Jo’Ryan; and a great grandson Nikko. Sisters, Tamera Willoughby, Bonita(John) Cliber, Michelle(Glenn) Robey and brother Lance(Kelly) McCloud; best friend and chosen brother Scott Bede and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In his final chapter, he was surrounded by love and the devoted care of his long-time partner Kathleen Grazier.

In addition to his parents, Nicholas is preceded in death by brother Thomas McCloud, a son Joesph Ryan Willoughby and a daughter Casey Leigh Willoughby.

Nicky was an avid golfer and fisherman until his health declined. He found ways to occupy his time traveling the Blue Ridge mountains, and taking trips to Ocean City to enjoy the beach.

Nicky was a loving brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by many whose lives he has touched.

A memorial service will be held on January 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Tharp Funeral home in Lynchburg, Virginia.
