Nathan Elijah “N.E.” “Nebo” Witt, Jr.

Nathan Elijah “N.E.” “NEBO” Witt, Jr. 70, of Evington VA. “N.E.” was born on May 12, 1950 and went to heaven on December 4, 2020. He was the son of the late Nathan Elijah Witt, Sr. and Doris Witt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Adam Blair Witt, and father-in- law Charlie Blair.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susie Blair Witt, four sons, Gerald Wayne Witt (Shanna), Jonny Witt (Jessica), Josh Witt, Caleb Witt; one daughter, Carrie Witt Crank (Jason), and two beloved granddaughters, Haiven and Paisley Crank. In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren, “N.E.” is survived by five sisters, Shelby Logwood, Joyce Stinson (David), Audrey Hamilton (David), Mary Bare (John), Pam Willoughby (Doug); mother-in-law Mary Blair, two brothers-in-law, Bo Blair (who he loved dearly) and Scotty Blair, and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
“N.E.” grew up in Evington, VA and served in the U.S. Army. He was a gifted musician and found joy in playing and singing bluegrass music. He enjoyed Nascar racing, riding his Harley Davidson, and cooking on the grill for his family and friends during his free time. He was nothing short of a good man. He worked hard and enjoyed life in a simple way. “N.E.” devoted his life to his family. He was employed by Banker Steele as a crane operator for numerous years.
A graveside service will be held in Leffler Community Cemetery 15804 Leesville Road (Rt. 682) Evington, Campbell County, Virginia, 24550 at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 followed by military honors.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
