Nancy Hight Hudson

Nancy Hight Hudson, 86, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Lynchburg, VA, died March 24, 2012. She passed away surrounded by her family members.

Mrs. Hudson was born January 13, 1926, in Lynchburg, VA, a daughter of the late John J. and Sallie E. Hight.  She was a graduate of Virginia Baptist School of Nursing.  She was a lifelong member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church.  She served as a Registered Nurse for the Red Cross and retired from Lynchburg General Hospital.

She is survived by her brother Dennis T. Hight, Sr. of Greensboro, NC.  She is also survived by a nephew Dennis T. Hight, Jr., (Susan) of Greensboro, NC and a niece Catherine H. Gaither (Henry) of Burlington, NC.  She is also survived by three great nephews Spencer, Scott and John; two great-nieces, Caroline and Erin and one great-great nephew, Oliver.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel James Hudson, Sr., her son, Daniel James Hudson, Jr., two brothers, James L. Hight and John P. Hight and four sisters Hazel E. Hight, Lucy L. Hight, Mae P. Hight, and Wilhelmina E. Hight.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Reverend Randy Bowers officiating and Reverend Nancy White asssisting.
