The world became a little less bright on July 25, 2025, with the passing of Nancy Virginia Crowder who passed away peacefully at the age of 79. She was born on October 14, 1945, in Lynchburg, VA to Lola Virginia and Houston Maie Crowder.
She is survived by her loving brother and sister-in-law, Houston Maie Crowder, Jr. and Linda McLennan Crowder; her nephew Houston Maie Crowder, III (Trey) and his wife Barbara Racey Crowder; her niece Lara Crowder Green and her husband David Eugene Green; her great niece and nephews Houston Maie Crowder, IV, David Cooper Green, Patrick William Crowder, and Savannah Faye Green, and her dear friend Ann Sheldon and her family.
Nancy will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her love of Boston Terriers, the lovely scarves and sweaters she knitted for family and friends, how much she enjoyed making jewelry for others, her delicious English muffin bread, great times at Willow Lake with family and friends, and her unwavering dedication to and love for her family and friends.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to The Summit Independent and Assisted Living and Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their kindness, support, and care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 3:00-5:00pm at Westminster Canterbury in the Hume Room.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society.
