Michael Gardner McDaniel, Jr., 36, of Forest, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Michael was born on May 5, 1990, in Lynchburg, Virginia, the beloved son of Michael Gardener McDaniel, Sr. and Sharon Shephard. After graduating high school, he pursued a career in masonry.

Michael loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on his red dirt road.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his brother, Terence R. McDaniel; sister-in-law, Miosha McDaniel; his niece, Eden Grace; nephew, Ezra Gray; and his grandmother, Katie McDaniel. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

A service celebrating Michael’s life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
