Michael Roy “Mike” Land, 79, of Montvale, passed away on February 12, 2026, at his residence. Born in Danville VA on October 26, 1946. A son of the late William Frank Land and Lona Everhart Land. In addition to his parents Mike was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
Mike served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was very proud of his service and had acknowledged if he had to do things again, he would still serve. He was a fun-loving family man who enjoyed the outdoors, college ACC basketball being a huge Duke Blue Devils fan and was fueled heavily by a hot cup of coffee. His love of long-distance running, mowing the grass, yard work and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids were his favorites. Mike had a very strong prayer life, and he loved to read his Bible while spending time in God’s word. In previous years he also enjoyed collecting baseball cards and Bowling. Mike was a jack of all trades but in recent years he enjoyed his job working for Fishers Auto Parts being a delivery driver. He was loved dearly by his wife, children and grandchildren, and will be missed in the days ahead.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Tonya Rising Land; four children, Bonnae Land (David Spencer), John Michael Land, Reyna Dempsey (Robert Crowder) and Cristina Ginther (Chris Ginther); eight grandchildren, Brianna, Tristan, Kayden, Madison, Maylin, Axel, Asher and Ember. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
