Mary Ann Maddox Clark, 92, of Lynchburg, VA, entered the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 4, 2026. She was born on May 14, 1934 in Naruna, VA. She was the daughter of the late Wesley Gillian Maddox and Lucy Mae Harper Maddox. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Arthur (Art) Clark. She is preceded in death by a brother, John Winston Maddox; and sisters, Louise Maddox Connelly (Gray), Mildred Maddox Bragg (Jack), and Rachel Maddox Gallup (Robert); and one niece, Debra Bragg. She is survived by four nieces and four nephews and other extended family who experienced her love and kindness.

Mary Ann graduated from William Campbell High School, Longwood College, and UVA. She spent her teaching career primarily with Lynchburg City Schools, teaching first grade at Garland Rhodes Elementary and Linkhorne Elementary. She did teach for two years on military bases in France and Germany, thoroughly enjoying the experiences of traveling.

Family and friends meant the world to Mary Ann. She was always available whenever needed. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Per Mary Ann’s request, there will be no service or visitation.
