Marilyn Jean Elliott, 78, of Forest, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017. She was the wife of Andrew (Andy) W. Elliott for 30 years.
Marilyn was born in Aurora Ill., on Sunday, May 15, 1938 a daughter of the late Mr. Harvey Reeve and Mrs. Mable Reeve.
She was a bookkeeper at Holiday Inn for several years. Before her retirement, she worked at Mervin’s garage and was a member of Sandusky Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; making her family smile brought her much joy. She did this by being a wonderful cook and having knowledge about many things from being an avid reader. Her soft, loving listening skills brought comfort to all that knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Richard Caughey (Deborah) of Madison Heights, Bob Caughey (Robin) of Goode, Donna Scruggs (Jerry) of Madison Heights and Gary Proffitt (Rebekah) of Forest; grandchildren, Chris Caughey, Kevin Caughey, Bobby Caughey Jr., Troy Scruggs (Amy), Johnathan Scruggs (April), Lisa Hill (Joe), Ryan Proffitt; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her devoted caregiver, Wanda Buckland, and her four-legged babies, Chip and Trouble.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Sandusky Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow immediately at 12 noon on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Sandusky Baptist Church with the Reverend Ed Vogt officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
