Marie Josee Hassing

Marie Josee Hassing, 63, of Madison Heights, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Marie was born on, August 16, 1963, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of the late, Hubert Ernst and Marie Louise Ernst (Breuer). After many years of working in the transportation industry, Marie became an entrepreneur and was the owner of Free Range Creations.

Marie was a member of St. Mark's and enjoyed thrifting, arts and crafts, vendor events, and her puppies.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Hassing of Madison Heights, VA, her son, Colin of Toronto, Canada, her sister Marie Rose, and her brothers, Georges and Guy.

In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her brother, John.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any SPCA.

A memorial service celebrating Marie's life will be held at a later date at St. Mark’s.
