Louis L. Scruggs, 73, of Lynchburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Pribble Scruggs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Zachary Scruggs and Chad Scruggs; two precious grandchildren, Colin and Gabbi Scruggs who brought him great joy. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Born on December 14, 1945 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Frank and Mabel Collins Scruggs. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Reggie Scruggs and Howard Scruggs and a brother-in-law, Alvin Christian.
Louis was a U.S. Navy veteran serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He worked for many years at Meredith Burda and R.R. Donnelley, and later on was the owner/operator of Sentry Pest Control.
Throughout the years, he was an avid UVA fan and armchair coach. He finally got to see his team be National Champions.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019 in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. David Christian officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 16.
