Lonnie M. Rose, Jr., 71, passed away at his residence in Forest, Virginia, after a long battle with FTD/PPA, on January 4 ,2026. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 27, 1954, the son of Lonnie M. Rose, Sr. (deceased), and Eunice Howard Rose.
Lonnie is survived by Linda, his wife of 46 years; his son, Charlie of Atlanta, Georgia; his mother, Eunice of Memphis; his sister, Barbara (Dennis) of Memphis; his brother, Daniel of Memphis; his sister, Patricia of Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased in death by his father and a brother Freddie.
After leaving Memphis State University, Lonnie worked for IBM in Memphis and in Lynchburg. After leaving IBM, he started his own company in Lynchburg, Rose Office Machine Service, Inc. Lonnie retired and sold the business in 2020.
He was the past President and member of the Lynchburg Network Club and served on a volunteer basis as a Board Member for several local businesses in Lynchburg.
Lonnie was an avid outdoors person, enjoying camping, hiking, and traveling with his wife and visiting with his son in Atlanta. He also enjoyed tinkering in the basement with his tube amplifiers, radios and other stereo equipment.
In accordance with Lonnie's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services

Linda and Charlie would like to thank Westminster at Home Care (Hospice Care) (Dr. Lord, Angela, Amanda, Crystal, Skyelar and all of the others who treated Lonnie and his family with such care and respect). We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to Mona with The Key, for her extraordinary kindness and care over this past year.
How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
