In the early morning of Thursday, June 25, 2026, God spoke to Lois and said the words of Matthew 25:23 - Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He said come on Home! Lois accepted the invitation and went home to be with the Lord.
Born on November 10, 1947 to Daniel and Hilda Brown, Lois Genevieve Brown grew up in Campbell County. “Gennie” as she was called by family, dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and joined Bethany Baptist Church. She attended and graduated from Campbell County High School. Continuing to follow her love for the Lord, Lois attended Virginia Seminary College.
Lois caught the eyes of Raymond Roberts and they married in 1968. To their union, three children were born.
Lois chose a career of service. She was a lifelong store manager of several different places (Abry’s, Flowers’ Bakery and Kroger’s Bakery Department to mention a few). Lois was awesome at training others on how to treat others with respect. This no doubt came from her studies of God’s Word.
She had so many hobbies and was great at just about everything she did. Lois loved cooking (was great at it), singing (was great at it), dancing (she could really cut a rug). She even worked on cars (no mechanic needed when she was around)! But her greatest talent was blessing others!
She was preceded in death by parents Daniel and Hilda Brown, her daughter Trina Roberts, two brothers Earl Brown (also his wife Cora), Daniel Brown and a sister Viola Brewa.
Cherishing her memory forever are two daughters. Cassandra Lawhorne (Rev. Kent Lawhorne) and Genise Hall (Rodney). Two granddaughters India Roberts and Mickalah Palmer. One grandson Tywon Roberts. One sister Rev. Alice Silver (Earl). Along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Also a life long dedicated friend Tammy Harris.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Bethany Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the churhc cemtery. The family will recieve friends at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg Location on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 6:00P.M. - 8:00P.M.
