Linda Nelson, 71, of Hurt, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026.

Born on October 15, 1954, in Washington, D.C., Linda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her family. She will be remembered for the love she shared and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her.

Linda devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. She found great joy in creating a loving home and caring for those closest to her.

Linda also had a deep love for genealogy. She enjoyed researching her family history, tracing the stories and connections of generations past, and preserving the history and legacy of the family she loved so dearly.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lewis and Louise Roston.

She is survived by her devoted husband, William C. Nelson; her children, Michael Sanford, Michele Nelson,William C. Nelson II and Melinda Nelson, and her husband, Jonathan Henderson.

Linda was also the proud grandmother of Alyssa Jackson, Paige Sanford, Aryanna Jackson, Alexander Jackson, Aidian Jackson, Aaron Jackson, and Skylar Sanford. Her grandchildren brought great joy to her life, and her love for them will forever remain a part of their memories.

Linda’s life was a blessing to her family. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the family history she worked to preserve, and the countless memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family forever.

Services

The viewing and funeral service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford, Virginia, on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Viewing: 12:00 p.m. 

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m.
