Linda Floyd Keesey (formerly Kinzer) passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, after a courageous six-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Linda was known by everyone as a kind soul whose warmth and selflessness touched all who knew her. She had a remarkable gift for building deep, lasting relationships and treasured the friendships she made throughout every chapter of her life. A sincere and devoted friend and family member, Linda's compassion, generosity, and genuine care for others leaves an enduring impression on everyone she met.

Linda was born on January 31, 1949, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Margaret Repass Floyd and Emmett Gleason Floyd, Jr. She grew up in Somerset, Virginia, where she graduated from Orange County High School before attending Longwood University. Education was both Linda's profession and a passion. She began her career as an English teacher at Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, while earning her master’s degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

Later, Linda relocated to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she made her home, raised her family, and continued the work that she loved. She spent the majority of her career as a dedicated staff member and Guidance Counselor at Donegal High School in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. There, she became known as a trusted mentor, advocate, and resource for students and colleagues alike. Her compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment made a lasting difference in the lives of countless young people and fellow educators. She dedicated her career to helping young people realize their potential and took tremendous satisfaction in watching them succeed.

Nothing brought Linda greater pride than her children. She celebrated every milestone and accomplishment in their lives, always serving as their greatest supporter, encourager, and cheerleader. She adored her grandchildren, embracing them with unconditional love and delighting in every opportunity to be part of their lives. Whether attending activities, celebrating achievements, or simply spending time together, Linda found her greatest joy in her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Meg Kammerdiener and husband Doug, and her granddaughters, Nora and Callie Kammerdiener; her son, Carlton Kinzer, and grandson, Owen Kinzer; her stepdaughter, Meredith Spidel and husband Jared, and their children, Isaac and Elyse Spidel; and her stepdaughter, Adrienne Erb and husband Alan, and their children, Josiah and Jackson Erb, and Peyton Underkoffler.

Later in life, Linda found love and companionship with Richard L. Keesey. They shared some beautiful years together marked by love, mutual devotion, and unwavering support for one another. Linda was the beloved widow of Richard, and she deeply treasured the time they shared together.

Linda was blessed with two sisters, Kathryn Floyd and Rebecca Rowe. The three Floyd sisters shared an extraordinary bond throughout their lives, supporting one another through life's many joys and challenges. Their lifelong friendship and care for one another was a treasured gift.

Outside of her family, friendships, and career, Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a good book in hand, and she cherished long walks that allowed her to appreciate the beauty of God's creation around her. She enjoyed traveling and embraced opportunities to experience and see new places. Whether exploring somewhere new or enjoying a quiet afternoon with family and friends, Linda found happiness in creating meaningful memories and savoring life's everyday blessings.

Linda will be remembered always for her kind heart, unwavering selflessness, and steadfast love for her family, friends, students, and community. A woman rooted in her faith and a regular member of her church community, she lived her life with grace, compassion, and an abiding trust in God. Her faith was reflected not only in what she believed, but in the way she cared for others, offered encouragement, and put the needs of those around her before her own. Those who were fortunate enough to know her were better because of her presence. Her legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
