Lillian Scholer

Lillian Wetzholt Blidsoe Scholer, 91, of Roanoke formerly of Moneta, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Belleville, NJ on October 23, 1925. A daughter of the late Paul Wetzholt Blidsoe and Ellen Borup-Nielsen Blidsoe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Knud Scholer; a daughter, Edda Frankel and a sister, Joy Pfeifer.

Lillian loved spending time with her family and friends. She retired from Carter-Wallace Pharmaceutical. She also enjoyed gardening, needlework, reading and traveling.

Lillian is survived by her two daughters, Lise-Kirsten Scholer Higgins and her husband, Scott and Kristine Carole Scholer-Martin and her husband, Stephen; two grandchildren, Alanna Higgins and Dane Higgins; a daughter of her heart, Lisa Kathleen Nicolaysen Gelburd and her husband, Merrell.

A memorial service and celebration of Lillian’s life will be conducted at 11:00 am, July 7th, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford.
