Leon Alphonza Smith

Leon Alphonza Smith, 79, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on February 12, 2026. He was the son of Jack Smith and Edna Bradley.

Leon Alphonza Smith was born on June 27, 1946, in Bronx, New York, to Jack Smith and Edna Bradley.

He loved taking pictures, drawing, playing tennis, dancing, and most importantly, he loved the Lord and going to church.

Leon Smith is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith; children, Raymond (Kristie) Smith, Gloria (Tron) Smith, Terresa Smith; grandchildren, TaLeasha, Raven, Desiree', Jenajah, Jeniyah, Savion, Paris, Jordan, London, India; great grandchildren, LaDrea, Legend and Kaicier: nephews, Eric and Scott Britton; and a host of family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2pm at Green Spring Baptist Church, Brookneal with Reverend Dews officiating and Reverend Dixon eulogist.

Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
