Larry W. Booth

December 15, 1950 — January 21, 2020

Larry Wayne Booth, Sr., 69, of Salem, Va., and of Silverbay, Mn., passed away in his Virginia home recently.

He was born on December 15, 1950 to parents, Bryce and Maxie Booth.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his fierce dog Meshka “Queenie”; his daughter, Jessica “Jessie” Booth; son, Larry “Bug” Booth Jr.; brother-in-law, Bill Bain; brothers, Henry and Michael “Mike” Booth; dog, Cookie “his Keeper”; in-laws, Earl and Jane Bain, and brother, Sunnyboy.

He is survived by his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Sheri Bain-Tuck and Randy Tuck; brother-in-laws: Mark and Paul Bain; sister-in-laws: Pat Gray, Carolyn, Lisa, and Denise Bain; daughter-in-law: Sonja Divere and husband, James Divers, granddaughters: Kathleen Booth and Kayla Abbott and husband Michael Abbott, great grandson: Lucas Abbott, many nieces and nephews, and his fur babies, Frost (Frosty Bean) and Mindy.

He was a man of many passions including fishing, nature, and animals.  A man of few words, but when he did speak it was in kindness, and wisdom, or to share something he was passionate about.  He worked, hard in everything he put his mind to, from his extensive career managing and working in the banking industry to bringing to life the vision of each of his outdoor projects.  His tenacity, heart, and quiet strength will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on February 15, 2020 between the hours of 2-4 pm at American Legion Post #3 located at 710 Apperson Dr. Salem, Va 24153.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Roanoke, is assisting the family.
